About the work
"El equilibrio reside en 3 puntos" is an interactive musical performance in which the author generates a soundscape through the movements of his body, recognised by a system of electrodes and pressure sensors installed on the artist's body. The piece is a dialogue between the computer and the artist through a machine-learning system, a musical piece composed in Super Collider, and the expressivity of the performer. The dialogue is woven between the movements of the body, the sonic response of the system, and the conversation between both.
The work addresses the relationship between art and techno-science in the creative process. This piece represents the first stage of the project Inside the Stomach of a Robot, in which a kind of reactive dialogue is woven between the artist and a machine-learning system. The goal of this dialogue is to explore how the creative process is transformed through the use of digital technologies.
The piece was presented at the Ctrl, Art, Supr festival at Bastardo Hostel in Madrid on 1 and 2 March 2019.
