Joaquin Diaz Duran Joakinator

The Joakinator is an artistic project that takes the problem of how technology touches the creative process over the body of the artist. Through the creation of the performance plus the development of the body interface for stage interaction we explore the condition of the embodiment of digital technologies.

Below there is the documentary:

“Sensitive Spectrum. Arte en los límites de la percepción” collects the results of the research “Los lenguajes del arte en los límites de su percepción,” conducted by Manuel Prados between 2018 and 2021 at Medialab Prado, Madrid.

Summary

The Joakinator is an artistic project that takes the problem of how technology touches the creative process over the body of the artist. Through the creation of the performance plus the development of the body interface for stage interaction we explore the condition of the embodiment of digital technologies.

Body / Device Relationship

The body interface becomes a stage for interaction: sensors translate the performer's movement and biometric signals into control of the work, questioning embodiment in digital technology.

Research Context

The project is supported by BODYinTRANSIT and the i_mBODY Lab at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. It has been developed in collaboration with FUZZYGAB.4 at the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, and funded by the National Council of Science and Technology - FINBA of Mexico, and Medialab-Matadero (Spain).
