Joaquín Díaz Durán
Joaquín Díaz Durán (1982, Mexico City) is currently pursuing a PhD program in Humanities Arts and Education Research at the UCLM (Spain). He develops his artistic based research project Inside The Stomach of a Robot, an artistic reflection about the transformation of the creative process through the use of A.I. and robotic technologies in performance.
As a part of his project he is developing the Interfaz Cyborg an interactive interface for embodying computer technology. Last year he presented his work with the Cyborg Interface at the Scratxe # 13 festivals in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Ctrl Art Supr at Hostal Bastardo in Madrid. In collaboration with the filmmaker Francisco Bouzas presented the performance A Latent Game in Tabakalera-Donostia in December 2019. He has taught interactive art, interface design and robotics workshops at the Telefónica Foundation of Madrid (March 2019), at MediaLab Prado (April and December 2019) and at the Future Places Festival, Portugal (October 2017). From 2012 to 2015 he was part of the robotics team of the Birobotics laboratory of the UNAM responsible for the design and construction of the appearance of the Justina robot, participating in the Robocup competition (Mexico 2012, Holland 2013, Brazil 2014 and China 2015) and RockIn ( Portugal 2015).
